Live commerce in Thailand is no longer a trend — it's the dominant sales channel for beauty, FMCG, fashion, and lifestyle brands. TikTok Shop alone moved over 500 million USD in GMV across Southeast Asia in 2024, and Thailand is now its third-largest market globally. Add Shopee Live and Lazada Live to the mix, and any brand that's not running consistent live streams is leaving real revenue on the table.
But there's a catch: most "live commerce agencies" in Bangkok aren't actually agencies. They're freelancers with a ring light, or production houses pivoting from corporate video, or marketing agencies subcontracting to whoever's free. The result is the same — campaigns that look polished but don't sell, contracts that disappear after the first month, and brands paying premium fees for amateur execution.
This guide walks you through what separates a real live commerce partner from the noise. After 5+ years and 10,000+ hours of live production across Thailand, Japan, and Africa, here's exactly what to look for — and what to avoid.
01. Verify their platform certifications
The single fastest way to filter is to ask for proof of platform certifications. TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada each run formal agency programs that take 12–18 months and substantial GMV thresholds to earn. The tiers worth knowing:
- TikTok Strategic Agency — Top tier. Direct platform support, early feature access, performance-based account managers assigned to your campaigns.
- Lazada Star Enabler — Highest enabler tier. Special pricing, dedicated platform liaison, exclusive campaign opportunities (Lazmall events, etc.).
- Shopee Premium Enabler — Top Shopee partner status. Priority support, sponsored slot access, lower platform commission negotiation rights.
If an agency can't show you written confirmation from at least one platform, they're starting from scratch on your account — and you're paying them to learn. The platforms themselves don't certify agencies that haven't delivered measurable results. It's the cleanest signal you'll find.
02. Look past the showreel — ask about hours and GMV
Every agency has a flashy reel. Showreels are not evidence. The real questions are:
- How many hours of live commerce have you actually produced? Numbers below 1,000 hours mean you're hiring someone who's still learning. Real partners have logged 5,000–10,000+ hours.
- What's your average per-stream GMV? If they can't answer this without checking, they don't track it. Run.
- Show me 3 client campaigns with anonymized results — even basic numbers like "X% sales uplift over Y days" are enough to gauge whether the agency thinks in performance terms.
The answers separate people who run streams from people who run revenue events. Both call themselves agencies. Only one will move your numbers.
03. Understand the pricing benchmarks
Thai live commerce pricing is a wide range — from ฿500/hour amateur setups to ฿5,000+/hour boutique studios. Here's roughly what each band gets you:

Where you should land depends on your category and stream length. Beauty brands running 100+ hours per month get massive economies of scale — under ฿800/hour is realistic for that volume. Test buys of 1–10 hours sit naturally in the ฿1,000–฿2,000 range. Anything cheaper is a red flag; anything more expensive should come with measurable revenue commitments, not vibes.
04. Ask exactly what's included
"End-to-end" is the most abused phrase in this industry. Before you sign, get a written breakdown that confirms:
- Streaming software — OBS or equivalent, with multi-platform broadcasting (TikTok + Shopee + Lazada simultaneously). Phone-only setups can't do this, and you're losing 50% of your audience.
- Camera — At minimum, Sony ZV-E10 II or Canon equivalent. Smartphone cameras don't cut it for serious brand work.
- Microphone — Noise-canceling lapel mic. Audio quality is the single most underestimated factor in retention.
- MC — Trained on your brand, fluent in the languages your buyers speak. Average MCs read scripts. Good MCs sell.
- Graphics & overlays — Custom branding, live price overlays, real-time stock tags. Cookie-cutter templates kill conversion.
- Set design — Premium styling, not a folding table in front of a curtain.
- Production management — Pre-show planning, live monitoring, post-show analytics report.
If any of those are extra line items, you're being upsold. Reputable agencies bundle them into the hourly rate.
05. Test the team before you commit
The best agencies offer a short test buy — 1 hour at standard rates so you can audit production quality, MC skill, and tech reliability before you commit to a 24- or 100-hour package. Any agency that refuses this is either too overbooked to care about new clients or too insecure about their work to let it stand on its own.
What to evaluate during the test:
- Did they show up on time, fully prepared?
- Was the audio clean and the camera correctly focused throughout?
- Did the MC understand your products before going live, or were they reading from notes?
- Did they pivot mid-stream when something wasn't selling, or read the script regardless?
- Did you get a written post-show analytics report within 24 hours?
Five yeses and you've found your partner. Three or fewer and keep shopping.
Red flags to walk away from
- "We post on TikTok and the algorithm will find buyers" — Pure organic reach is dead. Without paid amplification + creator network strategy, you're shouting into the void.
- No analytics report after each stream — If they're not measuring, they're not optimizing.
- One MC for every product category — A jewelry MC doesn't sell laundry detergent. Specialization matters.
- Long minimum contracts before a test — Reputable agencies let you test before locking in months of spend.
- No certifications, no case studies, but premium prices — You're funding their learning curve.
Where Limitless fits
Full disclosure — we're an agency, so this section is biased by definition. Here's the data instead: we're certified by all three platforms (TikTok Strategic Agency, Lazada Star Enabler, Shopee Premium Enabler), we've logged over 10,000 hours of live commerce production since 2020, we operate physical studios in Thailand with expansion in Japan and Africa, and our packages start at ฿1,000 for a 1-hour test buy — exactly the kind of low-risk audit we just recommended you do with whichever agency you shortlist.
If we're a fit, we'd rather you find out in 1 hour than in 6 months. If we're not, we'll tell you which other Bangkok-based agencies might be — there are 2–3 good ones, and we'd rather you go to a real competitor than waste your budget on someone who'll set the category back.
Ready to test a live agency properly?
Book a 1-hour test buy at ฿1,000. Full studio, trained MC, multi-platform broadcast. If we don't move your needle, you're out one hour and ฿1,000.
